Five division world champion Nonito ?The Filipino Flash? Donaire feels ?amazing? after sparring eight rounds with former WBA bantamweight champion Koki Kameda and flyweight Joebert ?Little Pacman? Alvarez in Las Vegas.
Donaire faces unbeaten Jessie Magdaleno, a 24 year old southpaw with a record of 23-0 with 17 knockouts and for the very first time will be featured on a card in which eight division world champion Manny Pacquiao clashes with WBO welterweight champion Jessie Vargas on November 5 at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas.
In a telephone conversation with The Manila Standard on Thursday morning , Manila Time, Donaire said ?I?m doing great. Feel amazing, feel good and ready to go,?
He said he was trying to get into top shape and is ?already ahead of schedule.? He said ?the sparring was good and we?ve just been able to work.?
He said Cuban trainer Ismael Salas ? has been implementing things in my style so we?ve been agile and take control regardless of whether this is the beginning of camp.?
He described trainer Salas as ?amazing, very smart, very intelligent and he maximizes my ability to perform.?
Salas who replaced Nonito?s father/trainer ?Dodong? Donaire who told us he wanted to be with his family in San Francisco and attend to his family and that there were no problems between father and son.
Salas has trained such world champions as Guillermo Rigondeaux who beat Donaire some years ago, Yuriorkis Gamboa, Danny Green, Jorge Linares and Pacquiao?s opponent Jessie Vargas the reigning WBO welterweight champion.
