Pound for pound No.1 Roman ?Chocolatito? Gonzalez beat WBC super flyweight champion Carlos ?Principe? Cuadras of Mexico to capture his 4th world title and created history by becoming the first Nicaraguan to capture four world titles in four separate weight divisions in an exciting battle at the Forum in Inglewood, California on Sunday, Manila Time. All three judges had Gonzalez the winner. Max DeLuca scored it 116-112, Robert Hecko 115-113 and Cathy Leonard 117-111.

Gonzalez had previously captured titles at 105, 108 and 112-pounds. He still currently holds the WBC flyweight world title.

Two Filipino champions IBF flyweight king Johnreil Casimero who successfully defended his title with a 10 th round TKO over previously unbeaten Briton Charlie Suarez at the O2 Arena in London hours before the ?Chocolatito? showdown against Cuadras and told the Manila Standard the week of the fight that he was eyeing a title clash with the classy unbeaten Nicaraguan.

The longest reigning Filipino world champion, WBO flyweight champion who relinquished his title to move up to super flyweight to fight former champion Edgar Sosa at the StubHub Center in California on September 24 has also told us he wants a shot at ?Chocolatito.?

Cuadras opened the fight with a jab and a quick combination while Gonzalez was ?looking to land a big shot early and was, according to boxing scene, stalking Cuadras and running at him throwing hard shots.?

Cuadras started well in the third, landing hard punches and a good jab but Gonzalez walked through it all, continued to come forward and was firing with both hands. Cuadras was taking damage and being bullied around the ring. Cuadras started better in the fourth, landing some good shots, but Gonzalez was firing back the midway point and they were landing some big punches.

At the start of the sixth, the left eye of Gonzalez was swelling up and had a minor cut under it. A few punches later a cut opened up above the right eye of Gonzalez. The fight was getting closer with the two trading some good punches. Cuadras seemed to get off with the better shots and shook Gonzalez with a big hook at the bell.

Gonzalez continued to pressing forward, applying pressure and looking for big punches. Cuardas was throwing his quick flurries, and working over Gonzalez, who put on a late rally in the final minute with shots to the head and body. Gonzalez was really applying the pressure in the eight and had Cuadras on the run. A cut opened up around Cuadras' right eye at the end of the round from a clash of heads. They were trading punches at the start of the ninth and Cuadras was getting to the target quicker. Gonzalez continued to press on, with Cuadras landing a big right hand to push him back.

Cuadras was catching Gonzalez when he was coming in with some very good flurries. Gonzalez was pressing as usual and mixing up his punches with head and body work. Gonzalez looked very tired when the round closed out. The eleventh started off with Cuadras throwing his flurries while Gonzalez let his hands go and he was rallying with hard punches with both hands and had Gonzalez in some trouble at the end of the round with hard hooks to the body. The twelfth round was a war with both boxers trading away at close range. They were letting everything hang out as they continued to trade shots until the bell.
