The Philippines Jojo Bardon has lost his OPBF flyweight title in his first defense against the Japanese he beat to win the vacant crown last March 18, Masahara Naganawa.

Naganawa won a split decision at the Industrial Hall in Gifu, Japan but the scorecards of the three judges who were unidentified at press time had widely varying scorecards. One judge scored the fight for Bardon 115-112 while the two other judges had Naganawa the winner – one by a 116-113 edge but the other by a ridiculous 119-108 margin which means that the Japanese won eleven of the twelve rounds.

With the loss Bardon dropped to 17-11-1 with 8 knockouts while Naganawa who avenged his earlier loss to the Filipino improved to 12-1-2 with 2 knockouts.
