World Boxing Council super flyweight champion Carlos Cuadras says he is super-motivated for his title defense against unbeaten pound-for-pound flyweight champion Roman ?Chocolatito? Gonzalez of Nicaragua when they clash at the Forum in Inglewood, California on Saturday.
The WBC reports that Cuadras can hardly wait to fulfill his desire to take center stage against ?Chocolatito? in what the Mexican says is ?the most important match of his successful career.?
It?s a battle for supremacy which will reach millions of homes via Televisa Deportes and the mega-fight will surely slow the professional progress of one of them.
IBF flyweight champion Johnreil Casimero of the Philippines who defends his title against Britain?s Charlie Edwards at the O2 Arena in London on the same night told The Standard that he is eyeing a shot at Gonzales which is what Donnie Nietes, the longest reigning Filipino champion who relinquished his WBO light flyweight title to face former world champion Edgar Sosa in a flyweight bout on September 24 is also aiming for.
Problem is, Cuadras has assured fight fans that he has not given the prospect of defeat a scant moment?s notice and says he is in the best shape of his career with the inspirational help of his coach Rudy Hernandez.
