CEBU -- ALA Boys Z Gorres, AJ Banal, Michael Domingo and Rey Bautista returned home last night with the $500,000-dollar diamond-encrusted gold world cup trophy in tow. The quartet was part of the 6-man team who beat Mexico, 5-1, in the recently concluded Boxing World Cup: Philippines vs Mexico held at the Arco Arena in Sacramento, CA last Saturday (Sunday in Manila). The two other members of the team were Gerry Pe?alosa and Diosdado Gabi.

Also coming back home with the team were promoter Samson Gello-ani, ALA manager Michael Aldeguer and trainers Edito Villamor and Edmund Villamor.

From the airport, the team went directly to the Marriott Hotel at the Ayala Business Park for a press conference . On hand to greet the victorious boys were ALA executives headed by Antonio L. Aldeguer and Mandaue City executives headed by Mayor Jonas Cortez.

Members of the team took turns to answer questions from the Cebu media that went deep into the night.
