World Boxing Council minimumweight champion, unbeaten Wanheng Menayothin is determined to retain his title which is only one of the last two remaining world titles held by Thai fighters when he faces Mexican Sa?l ?Baby? Ju?rez in Chonburi, Thailand on August 2.
The Menayothin title defense comes after WBO bantamweight champion Pungluang Sor Singyu lost his title by a spectacular 11th round knockout against Filipino southpaw Marlon Tapales in the historic city of Ayutthaya last July 27.
Menayothin who has an impressive record of 42-0-0 with 17 knockouts is ?raring and ready? to take on Juarez who has a record of 23-4-1 with 12 knockouts according to the WBC with both going face to face and eyeball to eyeball, during a tense final press conference.
Wanheng is aware of the approaching Mexican mandatory contender?s challenge insists there`s been a ?meticulously magnificent preparation.?
On the other hand, ?Baby? Ju?rez, insists he`s calm and very confident of returning to Mexico with the Green and Gold belt on his lap.
Menayothin is defending that prized green and gold belt for the fourth time after defeating Japanese contender Go Odaira by a 5th round TKO last March 3 in Thailand.
Juarez who dropped a twelve round unanimous decision to flyweight contender Milan Melindo on November 15, 2014 in Cebu, scored back-to-back victories over tough Adrian Hernandez and is coming off a unanimous ten round decision win over former world champion Oswaldo Novoa ast March 19.
