Palicte captures IBF Pan Pacific super flyweight title

FLASHY Aston ?Mighty? Palicte knocked out Vergilio Silvano in the 7th round to capture the vacant IBF Pan Pacific super flyweight title last June 24 at the Jurado Hall of the Philippine Marine Corp inside the Barangay Fort Bonifacio in Taguig City, Metro Manila.

Palicte now has 20 wins with 18 knockouts against 2 loses and no draw while Silvano dropped to 21-6-1 record.

It was second encounter between Palicte and Silvano. Palicte only defeated Silvano by a unanimous decision in their first fight for the vacant WBO Oriental super flyweight title at the same venue last November 13, 2015.

?Ngayon tinumba na talaga ni Aston si Silvano upang ipakita na hindi tsamba yun unang panalo nya,? said trainer Joven Jimenez.
The 25-year old Palicte also bounced back from a split decision loss in his previous outing against Junior Granados last March 12 held in Polyforum Zam N?, Merida, Yucat?n, Mexico.

Palicte, a native of Bago City, Negros Occidental is also a former IBF Youth super flyweight title holder.

In the supporting bout, comebacking super flyweight Lolito ?Thunder Shot? Sonsona (18-1-4) of General Santos City won by unanimous decision against John Ray Logatiman (4-3-1) of Cadiz City. - lito delos reyes
