The fourth edition of the grassroots initiative boxing tournament of 10,000 BC Boxing Club in Lagtang, Talisay City was staged last Saturday night with 12 bouts contested. Boxers from the nearby
Big Yellow Boxing Gym also participated in the event.
Eight-year old, 20-kg pug David Mancao defeated Emmanuel Pomar for a SD win. The youngest of the fighting Pomar siblings lost for the third time against the very mobile Mancao. Jany Dula, younger brother of former pro boxer Memar Dula, scored his first victory against Kevin Anthony Torres in school boys 28 kg division via UD. Win Cabradilla wins a UD vs. Junrey Tabay in another school boys 28 kg tussle. Nazer Daluma lost a close SD decision to John Rey Labajo of Big Yellow Boxing Gym. Another Big Yellow pug, Ashley Fajardo scored a surprising victory by defeating favored Joperson Trazo via SD. Chaundry Dwayne Bacus outworked Mike Justine Torres to register his first amateur victory in kids 36 kgs.
Christian Gabriel Gingoyon avenged an earlier defeat to Markian Pomar by defeating the latter via SD in kids 36 kgs. Bryan Robles wins a split decision against John Renell Torres while Janiele Medalla defeated Mark Anthony Mandaue via SD. Tabunok pug Carlos Canedo unloaded a perfectly timed shot to the midsection of Emerald Pishko, who immediately dropped to his knees. Pishko was not able to beat the referee's count and lost the fight via TKO in the second round. Keyt Nino Abatayo Bacalso had an easy night against James Briones, winning a comfortable UD victory. A right check hook from Bacalso dropped his adversary in the opening round. In juniors 48 kg division, Marvin Pomar defeated Chris Ganoza of Matalom, Leyte via UD after three rounds.
Next BOX-OFFS episodes are scheduled to take place on the 30th of July, followed by another event on the 27th of August and 24th of September.
