In what turned out to be a dual match between known rivals Mandaue City and Talisay City moments ago at the boxing gym of Cebu City Sports Complex, Mike Boxing/Team Joeric of Mandaue City edged out adversaries from the southern city of Talisay, represented by 10,000 BC Boxing Club. It was a very competitive tournament for both teams as they scored three victories apiece with the last bout out to decide which squad can hoist the championship hardware.

Gaudfrey Lubiano scored a UD win over Omair Mamao in school boys 50 kilograms division to secure the over-all win for Mandaue City. John Kenneth Espina defeated Talisay City pug Bernard Robles via SD for another Mandaue win. In kids vacuumweight, Joperson Trazo proves the clich? "bigger is always better" not always accurate as he stand toe-to-toe and outsmarts the visibly bigger Reynaldo Alesna for Talisay's first win. Christian Gabriel Gingoyon registered a third-round TKO win over Mandaue's Christian Mibato in kids 36 kilograms and gave Talisay it's second gold. Reigning national champion and Mandaue pride Alexander Bonita dominates Brian Robles in school boys 38 kgs. School boys mosquitoweight John Paul Dignos defeated Keyt Nino Bacalso Abatayo while Emerald Pistiko utilised effective long-range boxing to score a UD win over Mandaue's Dexter Rosales.

Awarding of medals and trophies immediately followed after the last bout. It was known that the provincial government is planning to make this grassroots sports initiative an annual summer event that would definitely encourage the youth to take on different sports discipline.
