UNDEFEATED Filipino junior lightweight Harmonito ?Hammer? dela Torre and his team left for Niagara Falls, New York today (May 24) for his much-awaited ring debut in the United States.

Dela Torre was accompanied by his young manager Jim Claude ?JC? Manangquil of General Santos City, Cuban coach Osmiri "Moro" Fernandez and assistant Danny Mcdermott.

They boarded the United Airlines at 1 p.m. from New York City.

?Harmon is OK. He?s just only two pounds over the weight limit of 132 lbs.,? said Manangquil, chief executive officer of the Sanman Promotions.

The official weigh-in will be held on May 27 (Manila time).

?We only had light training in New York City,? said Manangquil.

The 22-year old Dela Torre (17 wins, 12 KOs) is facing Guillermo Sanchez in an eight round bout at the Seneca Resort and Casino in Niagra Falls. It is presented by Greg Cohen Promotions in the televised main event on ?Championship Boxing on CBS Sports Network on Friday (Saturday Manila time).

?I?m confident Hammer will put on a great show for American boxing fans. We?re hoping that his first fight will be the start of something special,? said Manangquil.

Dela Torre fought twice at the Cotai Arena in Macau, once on the undercard of the Manny Pacquiao-Brandon Rios fight.

He scored a 3rd round knockout over Jason Butar Butar in a scheduled six round bout on November 24, 2013 and then scored a 1st round knockout of Yakobus Heluka in a scheduled six round bout on February 22, 2014.

Meanwhile, the 27 year old southpaw Sanchez started his career with a string of eleven wins before he lost his last four fights. ? LITO DELOS REYES
