Light flyweight Josie Gabuco has lost to what ABAP executive director Ed Picson described as a younger, taller" Chinese
girl in the semi finals of the AIBA 2016 Women's World Boxing championships in Kazakhstan with all three judges turning in identical 39-37 scorecards in favor of the talented Chinese.

A rundown of the entries in the light flyweight division identified the Chinese boxer as E Naiyan who was ranked
No. 9 while Gabuco was ranked No. 12.

Gabuco had earlier entered the quarter finals with an impressive unanimous decision victory over a taller girl from Belarus but lost out in the clash for a medal finish.

In the round of 16 all threee judges - Ana Martinez of the Dominican Republic, Abderahim Ammour of Morocco and Nelka Thampu of Sri Lanka, turned in similar 39-37 scorecards.

Josie Gabuco beat China?s Xu Shiqui in the final of the light flyweight (48 kg) category to win the gold in the world women?s boxing championships in China but fell short of duplicating that effort against another Chinese opponent.
