LIGHTWEIGHT Nelson Tinampay of the Philippines failed to dethrone reigning WBC Youth World super lightweight champion Bai Shan Bo of China last April 29 at the Young Chan Arena in Chongqing, China.
Tinampay, 23 dropped a unanimous decision in their 12-round championships fight.
?Maraming suntok yung Intsik kesa kay Tinampay,? said international promoter-matchmaker-manager Brico Santig in a text message.
Santig accompanied Tinampay and his trainer Victor Man-on from Bohol.
Tinampay, the youngest among the three boxing brothers, now has a record of 9 wins, 4 by knockouts against three defeats and one draw.
Tinampay also recently suffered a setback by retirement against Jonel Gadapan in the 4th round last January 31 in Iligan City in their battle for the vacant World Boxing Federation Asia Pacific lightweight title.
Tinampay?s previous victory was against Richard Betos by a technical decision last July 24, 2015 in Tagbilaran City.
The 21-year old Bo is still undefeated and now has 8 straight wins with 4 knockouts and 1 draw. He captured the WBC Youth World super lightweight title by a first round TKO win over Tackie Annan of Ghana last February 12 at the Olympic Park Arena in Lu Zhou, China. ? LITO DELOS REYES
