Brooklyn, NY - Hot welterweight contender, Errol Spence Jr. scored the biggest win of his career by demolishing former world champion (WBO Light Welterweight) Chris Algieri at the Barclays Center.

Active from the opening bell, the unbeaten Spence Jr. (20-0, 17 KOs) mixed body and head combinations en route to scoring a 5th round TKO over a befuddled Algieri who was down thrice in the canvas before the fight was finally called of in favor of Spence Jr.

Spence Jr., a 2012 US Olympian, was devastating with his left hand, scoring all his knockdowns in the 4th and 5th rounds with crushing left hooks.

Algieri survived the first two knockdowns but Referee Benjy Esteves stopped the fight after another vicious left hook dropped him badly between the ropes with 2 minutes left in the round.

Spence Jr. looked for a big victory and got it tonight in a big venue and a main event fight broadcasted live by PBC (Premier Boxing Champions) on NBC.

Spence Jr. expressed his desire to fight for a world title next, possibly against Kell Brook of the United Kingdom of which he is the mandatory or the winner of the Keith Thurman and Shawn Porter fight which will be contested here at the Barclays Center in June.

Browne survives Kalajdzic

Unbeaten Light Heavyweights Marcus Browne of Staten Island, NY and Radivoje Kalajdzic tangled in a disputed 8 rounder as the second fight before the main event card on NBC and the Barclays.

Browne scored a questionable knockdown in the opening round which Kalajdzic called as a "slip" in the post fight conference.

"He hit me while he was down," stated Kalajdzic who will be filing a protest with the New York State Athletic Commission (NYSAC).

Kalajdzic scored a knockdown of his own in the 6th - a clean one. It was the first time that Browne was knocked down in a fight.

Browne recovered and eked out a controversial Split Decision win that was booed by the crowd at the venue.

The scores were 76-74, 76-75 and 74-76 in favor of Browne.

Glowacki outpoints Cunningham

In the first fight of the national telecast, WBO Cruiserweight champion, Krzysztof Glowacki of Walcz, Poland (26-0, 16 KOs) outlasted a bruising 12 round contest with former champion, Steve Cunningham Philadelphia, PA (28-81, 13 KOs).

Glowacki scored three knockdowns on the former titleholder on his way to scoring a 116-108, 115-109 (twice) tally to successfully defend his Cruiserweight belt.

Cheered by his Polish fans, the shorter Glowacki steamrolled over the taller Cunningham with hurtful punches that took the toll on Cunningham- who survived the knockdowns but was exhausted after twelve tough rounds against the Polish champion.
