World Boxing Association light flyweight Interim champion Randy ?Razor? Petalcorin of General Santos City in the Philippines put on a dazzling display during eight rounds of sparring against undefeated WBA Bantamweight Oceania Champion and former Commonwealth Games Gold Medalist Andrew Moloney at Boxingfit Gym, Port Melbourne Thursday.

Petalcorin?s co-manager, top Australian promoter Peter Maniatis told The Standard that the ?whole Port Melbourne Boxingfit Gym stopped to watch the sparring between bantamweight Andrew Moloney who has a record of 6-0 with 3 knockouts and southpaw Petalcorin who has an impressive record of 23-1-1 with 18 knockouts.

Maniatis reported that Moloney was very sharp having fought recently but that ?Petalcorin?s hand speed was sizzling and he is on target for next Friday Night?s fight against Omar Kimweri for the WBC Silver Title.

Petalcorin today weighed 110 pounds so he is spot on to make the weight next Thursday?s weigh in, in Melbourne.

Maniatis told us Moloney was ?also very good over the 8 rounds with both fighters showing world class skills.?

He said "Randy has sparred a total of 100 rounds in preparation for next Friday?s title fight and his timing and footwork as well as defense was spot on in his sparring with Moloney.

Friday is the 7 day compulsory WBC weigh in also in Melbourne.

Maniatis who co-manages Petalcorin with Filipino Jim Claude Manangquil, CEO of the growing Sanman Promotions in General Santos City said "Omari Kimweri is the current WBA Pan African Champion. He is pressure fighter and has decent power with good skills. Its a good fight for Petalcorin.?
