A big Bohol reception for newly crowned IBF/IBO flyweight champion Nonito “The Filipino Flash” Donaire was being planned for the hometown hero's visit to the picturesque province by popular Mayor and passionate boxing fan, Dan Neri Lim of Tagbilaran City.

The Mayor’s trusted executive assistant Mark Monton told Viva Sports/Manila Standard Today that Donaire, his father and cousin would be welcomed at the airport following their scheduled arrival aboard a Philippine Airlines flight Tuesday afternoon and would be taken to the capitol building after which there will be a press conference.

The Donaire party will stay in Tagbilaran City overnight before motoring to Talibon where the world champion was born, It will fulfill his wish to see his grandfather who cried when they spoke on the phone after Donaire scored a sensational fifth round knockout over previously undefeated champion Vic Darchinyan.

A mass in the local church will be followed by a motorcade through the streets of Talibon.

Donaire is expected back in time to pay a courtesy call on President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo along with IBF minimum weight champion Florante Condes on Friday.

Donaire who is in the country as guest of ABS-CBN said he never expected such a wonderful reception and indicated he was overwhelmed by the hospitality extended to him by the giant broadcast network, the media and the public. He added“ I am so excited about being invited to Malacanang” to see President Arroyo.
