ALJOE JARO FED UP WITH PROMOTERS PROMISES

The manager of newly crowned IBF minimum weight champion Aljoe Jaro says he is fed up with promoters Bobby Bostick and Cezar Trevino whom he accused of failing to deliver on any of the promises made prior to Condes’ title fight against Indonesia’s Muhammad Rachman in Jakarta last July 7.

Condes said the promoters as well as co-manager Dante Ortiz had promised to go to Jakarta for the fight and to pay Condes $9,500 under a contract which Ortiz claimed they signed last May 4. Later Bostick sade he was “on the way” to Manila to meet the new champion and his manager and was bringing along a check. But they failed to show up.

In an email to this writer, Trevino said they were unable to keep their commitments “due to unexpected circumstances beyond our control.” Trevino also claimed that they “voluntarily agreed to give Condes an extra $9,500 to up his purse which was not originally in the contract for we felt he was deserving, win or lose.”

However, they failed to impress Condes who said there were several Filipino promoters including well-known boxing man Rod Nazario who are capable and willing to promote a Condes title defense in Manila.
