FERNANDEZ: WHATEVER BRADLEY BRINGS, PACQUIAO WILL HAVE AN ANSWER

LOS ANGELES, CA -- Whatever Timothy Bradley plans to do come fight time, Manny Pacquiao will have the answer.

This, Pacquiao's assistant trainer Buboy Fernandez assured, by way of reacting to reports that the American has "big plans" on how to beat the Filipino icon and settle the unfinished business left unanswered after the duo's previous two meetings.

Pacquiao, then the World Boxing Organization welterweight champion, and Bradley, then unbeaten, traded punches for the first time in 2012 with the American earning a split decision victory protested by almost the entire international boxing community with the former returning the compliment two years later in overwhelming fashion.

"If he (Bradley) will make true what he is claiming, good, because boxing fans can look forward to witnessing a classic, exciting match, which Manny will win, anyway," Pacquiao's portly childhood friend-turned boxing guru told this writer in an interview Monday (Tuesday in Manila) following his boss' 12-round workout with the mitts at the Wild Card Gym.

"We, members of he training staff, have been watching the tape of Bradley's recent fight, including that against (Brandon) Rios where his camp claimed their guy had shown vast improvement under his new trainer resulting in a ninth round KO win," Fernandez disclosed.

"Well, meron ngang pagbabagong naibigay si Teddy (Atlas), pero konti lang. And if that is what Bradley will be dishing out against Manny, the result of this third fight will be no different from the Pacquiao-Bradley I and II," he projected.

"No, I'm not bragging, wala sa bukabularyo namin ang magyabang. What I can only say is Manny has changed a lot from the boxer that everybody knew before," Fernandez remarked. "He has transformed into a thinking, calculated and more mature fighter."

Proof of that, according to Fernandez, is the eight-division champion has already reached his peak form this early with still a little less than three weeks before the April 9 showdown.

"Kung noon nagpi-peak siya halos one week na lang bago ang laban, ngayon three weeks pa nasa fighting form na siya. Nakita namin ito kanina sa roadwork niya sa umaga at sa gym noong hapon," Fernandez relayed.

"We were one nga in the training team (chief trainer Freddie Roach and assistants Nonoy Neri, Roger Fernandez and Marvin Somodio) naniniwala na ready na siyang lumaban."

Fernandez attributed this to the camp's early start four weeks ago in General Santos City and the team's arrival here. "Naging minimal na ang disractions pagdating namin dito sa L.A. Kaya concentrated si Manny at naka-focus ang isip sa ensayo dito."

Despite this, Fernandez continued, sparring sessions will be maintained at a frequency of 10 rounds on Tuesday, 11 rounds on Thursday and 12 rounds on Saturday.

The reason for this, he added, is to keep Pacquiao at his peak as well as maintain all the gains achieved in the camp.
