Five division world champion and reigning WBO super bantamweight king Nonito ?The Filipino Flash? Donaire will step up his preparation for his title defense against former Hungarian OLypian and world No. ranked Zsolt Bedak this week when he spars eight rounds compared to the six he did last week.

Trainer/father ?Dodong? Donaire told The Standard that Nonito will spar with unbeaten Michigan featherweight, 25 year old Raeese Aleem who ?fights like Bedak and is very fast.?

?Dodong? Donaire told us Nonito ?needs to throw more punches and not depend solely on his power.?

Nonito Donaire who won the super bantamweight title for the second time, will be making his first defense of the vacant title he won handily against No.1 ranked Cesar Juarez after dropping him twice in round four but having to survive a brutal second half battle against Juarez who suddenly showed amazing resistance and strength.

Donaire, in an earlier conversation with The Standard described Bedak as a fighter ?who has speed and pretty decent power but is basically a technical fighter? who looks to win on points.
However, Nonito said he ?won?t let that happen. We know what we need to do.?

Donaire who arrives in Manila on April 4 for the blockbuster ALA Promotions-Top Rank-ABS-CBN card has committed to being one hundred percent ready for the Bedak showdown and is ?looking to fight fans to see his true potential.?

He added, ?we are coming out with all the weapons and we are going to bring it out.?
