
ALA and Saved By The Bell Boxing offer a night of fisticuffs tonight at Ynares

The country's premier boxing promotional outfit - Ala Boxing Promotions of Cebu has teamed up with Saved by the Bell (SBB) Boxing Promotions in offering boxing fans a night of fistic fury between fighters of the two stables.
To be staged tonight at the Ynares Arena in Pasig City is a duel for the vacant RP Lightweight Championship between SBB's Roberto "Calibre" Gonzales (26-2, 16 KOs) and Arjan "Spartan" Canillas (13-0-2, 10 KOs) of ALA.
Canillas is currently ranked No. 1 while Gonzales is the No.2 RP Lightweight contender.
ALA' s team-up with SBB is a rare but a welcomed partnership, given ALA's ability to staged its own big events in the Philippines and abroad.
SBB's head, Elmer Anuran told Philboxing that his Cebu-based partner for this event is open to have "some" of their fighters fight in an event not solely their own.
He also vouched for his fighter, Gonzales who he thinks is ready to take that big step in the prizefighting scene, in the Philippines and abroad.
"I believe Roberto deserves this opportunity, kelangan na sya makita at makilala ng tao."
Anuran likened Gonzales to Pinoy ring legend, Rolando Navarette, because of his fighting style and his resemblance to "The Bad Boy" of Philippine Boxing.
Dubbed as "Laban Pinoy", the event will also feature former title contender, Bernabe "Real Deal" Concepcion (34-6-2, 20 KOs) as its co-main event.
Concepcion who is in a comeback mission, will battle challenger, Jimmy Paypa (17-3-1, 6 KOs) in an attempt to defend his WBO Oriental, Super bantamweight title and to remain relevant in both the local and international boxing circuits.
"We expect a full house tonight because Abe brings in a lot of fans, especially his fans and supporters from the INC (Iglesia ni Cristo).
The gates of the Ynares Arena will open at 5 pm with the opening bout slated to start at 6 in the evening.
