GENERAL SANTOS CITY ? Promising lightweight fighter Adam Diu ?Big Daddy? Abdulhamid of General Santos City will be facing his toughest opponent in the undercard of the T?boli Thunder Boxing card on March 8 in T?boli, South Cotabato.

Abdulhamid, who has a Muslim father and Christian mother, will face former Philippine lightweight champion Eusebio ?Raging Bull? Baluarte of Valencia City, Bukidnon in an 8-rounder bout

The 19-year old Abdulhamid has vastly improved since joining the Sanman Boxing Stable last year. He now has a record of 8 wins with 2 loses and no draw.

After Abdulhamid (who was still then fighting with no manager and trainer) suffered his second loss from the hands of JR Mendoza on Nov. 27, 2014 at the SAFI compound in Gensan, he then piled up five straight wins since joining Sanman.

He first bounced back by scoring a unanimous decision to Mendoza in their return bout last Jan. 17 at the Oval Plaza in Gensan.

Abdulhamid continued his winning ways by posting another UD against veteran Jesar Ancajas of MP Davao on March 8 also in T?boli last year. He added three more wins via a UD over Joel Hecotibo in Sindangan, Zamboanga del Sur on May 1 and then knocked out Rey dela Cruz on Sept. 6 at Labangal Gym in Gensan

The 5-foot-8 former amateur boxer then previously won by another knockout on Hagibis Quinones on Nov. 24 in Maasim gym, Sarangani Province.

?Mabait at masipag na boxer si Abdulhamid. Masipag siyang mag training,? said Sanman Promotions Chief Executive Officer Jim Claude ?JC? Manangquil.

Baluarte, however, is a very tough opponent for Abdulhamid.

?He (Abdulhamid) needs to work harder against Baluarte,? said Managquil.

The 29-year old Baluarte is a veteran of international fights. He fought but lost for the PABA super welterweight title against Danie Dawson by a technical knockout last Dec. 16, 2012 in Australia.

Baluarte, who has 19 wins, 12 by KO and 14 loses also bowed to Masahiro Mizumoto by a KO in Japan and to Patomsuk Pathompothong by a KO in Bangkok, Thailand.

Four more pairs are also featured in the undercard of the boxing promotion co-presented by T?boli Mayor Dibu Tuan.

The main event is the championship fight for the vacant Philippine Boxing Federation super flyweight title between Sanman?s Raymond Tabugon of General Santos City and Renante Suacasa of Koronadal City.

The boxing card is again free to the public in celebration of the T?boli fiesta. ? LITO DELOS REYES
