FORMER world champion Pedro ?Jibran? Guevarra of Mexico and Jether ?The General? Oliva of General Santos City both made their weights yesterday during the official weigh-in for their 10-round fight slated today at the Lobodome in Mazatlan, Sinaloa, Mexico.

Both fighters tipped the scales at 111 lbs.

?Jether is OK. He had no problem in getting his weight because he was prepared when he arrived here,? said Oliva?s manager and Sanman Promotions CEO Jim Claude ?JC? Manangquil in a text message.

Oliva (23 wins-4 loses-2 draws-11 KOs), reigning World Boxing Federation (WBF) Asia Pacific flyweight champion earlier vowed to score an upset against the heavy-favorite Guevarra (26W-2L-1D-17KOs).

Guevarra earlier said that he will beat Oliva to make sure that he will become a world champion again. He recently lost his World Boxing Council (WBC) world light flyweight title to Japanese Yu Kimura by a split decision last Nov. 28 at the Xebio Arena in Sendai, Miyagi, Japan.

The Guevarra-Oliva bout is the main event of the ?Honor and Glory? card which will be broadcasted throughout Mexico by Televisa Deportes.

The main supporting fight pits Guevarra?s younger brother Alberto ?Metro? Guevara (23-2-0) against another Filipino boxer Edward ?Nightmare? Mansito (13-3-2) of Iligan City.

It will also feature former world champion and current WBC International female flyweight champion Ava ?Lady of Boxing? Knight (13-2-3) of USA and Jasseth ?Dynamite? Noriega (17-3-1) of Mexico. ? LITO DELOS REYES
