
Tanallon to defend crown vs. Tejares

REIGNING Philippine Boxing Federation (PBF) minimumweight champion Ronnie ?Ultimate Warrior? Tanallon of General Santos City will make his first title-defense against veteran Rodel ?Hardworker? Tejares of Manila on February 13 at 2 p.m. at the Gaisano Mall Atrium in Gensan.
Tanallon of Sanman Promotions won the title last October 7 by a unanimous decision against Lester John Pronco at the Glan Municipal Hall in Glan, Sarangani.
Tanallon (8wins-2 loss-1 draw-2 KOs) previously suffered a controversial loss via a UD to Siyabonga Siyo last Nov. 28 at the Selbourne Park in East London, Eastern Cape, South Africa.
Tejares, a native of Bukidnon but based now in Manila has a record of 20 wins against 36 defeats and 6 draws. He is a veteran of international title fights.
Tejares lost by 3rd round TKO to Denkaosan Kaovichit in their PABA super flyweight championship held Nov. 13, 2012 at the Ayutthaya Park in Ayutthaya, Thailand.
Tejares also bowed to Merlito Sabillo by a UD in their title fight for the vacant Orient Pacific Boxing Federation minimumweight crown last Oct. 8, 2011 in Bacolod.
He also fought but lost for the Interim WBC Asian Boxing Council light flyweight title against Chao Zhong Xiong in Huili, China last June 27, 2011. Tejares also dropped a UD to Ryan Bito at the Elorde Sports Center in Paranaque for the WBO Inter-Continental minimumweight title last Dec. 15, 2007.
The 22-year old Tanallo, a southpaw only stands at 5-foot-2 while the 31-year old Tejares, an orthodox fighter is 5-foot-4 tall.
The Tanallon-Tejares 10-rounder is just one of eight exciting bouts in the
Brawl at the Mall: Glory promoted by the Sanman Promotions.

Pitted in the main event is championship fight for the vacant World Boxing Federation (WBF) International featherweight crown between John Vincent ?Mulawin? Moralde of Davao and Anthony ?Zorro? Sabalde of Cebu.
The main supporting bout will be another title-fight for the vacant Philippine Boxing Federation (PBF) super featherweight crown between another undefeated Sanman fighter Romero ?Ruthless? Duno against Jason Egera.
The other exciting bouts are: Reymart Gaballo of Sanman against Bryan Samson of Cebu (8 rds.-118 lbs.), Jayson Daming of Sanman vs. Sadam Barambangan (6 rds.-108 lbs.); Robert Paradero vs. Jan-jan Santos (6 rds.-105 lbs.); Jayson Mama of Sanman vs. Martin Paderogao (4 rds.- 108 lbs.); Lucas Bendiema vs. Ken Jordan (4 rds.-108 lbs.)
The official weigh-in will be held on Feb. 12 at 11 a.m. at the Gaisano Mall Atrium. ? LITO DELOS REYES
