Filipino ring idol Manny Pacquiao has promised his former business manager Rod Nazario to put newly crowned IBF minimum weight champion Florante Condes on the undercard of his October 6 rematch with Marco Antonio Barrera at the Mandalay Bay Resort Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.

Pacquiao met Condes, Nazario who is the business manager of Condes and the fighter’s Filipino manager Aljoe Jaro at the Wild Card Gym in BF Homes, Paranaque yesterday.

According to TV boxing analyst Moy Lainez, Pacquiao said he would leave for Los Angeles on July 18 and would begin training early for the rematch. Pacquiao was reportedly winding down shooting for another movie titled “Anak ni Commander” which is to be shown during the Manila Film Festival. Pacquiao’s co-star will be Valerie Concepcion and not Ara Mina as earlier planned.

Lainez claimed Pacquiao said he would also make sure that Benjie Concepcion is on the fight card and indicated that he would talk to co-promoters Bob Arum of Top Rank and Oscar De La Hoya of Golden Boy Promotions to include Condes and Concepcion in the October 6 card,

Both Nazario and Lainez said Pacquiao looked “very thin” probably due to his hectic schedule although he claims to have started doing some roadwork to get into proper physical condition prior to beginning his training at Freddie Roach’s Wild Card Gym in Los Angeles. Pacquiao informed the members of the original “Team Pacquiao” that he would leave for the US on July 18.
