Moralde (L) and Sabalde (R).
UNDEFEATED John Vincent ?Mulawin? Moralde of Sanman Promotions will be going for a knockout against his rival Anthony ?Zorro? Sabalde of Cebu in their 10-round championship fight for the vacant World Boxing Federation (WBF) International featherweight title on Feb. 13 in the main event of the ?Brawl at the Mall: Glory? at the Gaisano Mall Atrium in General Santos City.,
?If given a chance, I will knockout him out,? said the 21-year old Moralde, who is still undefeated with 14 straight wins, seven of them all by knockout.
Moralde, however, thinks that Sabalde (10W-4L-0D-5KOs) is not a patsy but a good boxer.
Sabalde has won his last two fights against Bonnie Makiling (unanimous decision) and Phil Angcamor (4th round by retirement).
?But I will look for just one mistake that he will (possibly) commit then I will take advantage of it,? said Moralde, who also captured the vacant World Boxing Council (WBC) Asian Boxing Council Continental featherweight title via a unanimous decision against previous undefeated Australian Brayd Smith on March 14, 2015. Smith died two days later due to head injuries.
According to Sanman Promotions CEO Jim Claude ?JC? Manangquil, if Moralde wins and given a chance, he wants to challenge the current World Boxing Organization (WBO) world featherweight champion Vasyl ?Hi-Tech? Lomachenko (5W-1L-0D-3KOs) of Ukraine or World Boxing Association (WBA) super world featherweight champion Leo ?El Terremoto? Santa Cruz (31W-0L-1D-17KOs) of Mexico.
?I am confident with my ability that I can perform better under pressure,? said the 5-foot-7 Moralde.
The hard-hitting Dabawenyo will just let Sanman Promotions handle all his fights.
?I will just train harder in the gym to be ready on whoever opponent that they will give to me,? said Moralde, who is a former two-time National Open Amateur Boxing gold medalist.
Moralde is now more motivated to win because his live-in partner Karen Mae is now 4-month old pregnant and they are getting married this year. They already have a 5-year old son.
Moralde has already started hard training and has been sparring with WBF Asia Pacific featherweight champion Rimar Metuda (9W-0L-0D-4KOs) and fellow undefeated featherweight Romero Duno (8W-0L-0D-7KOs).
Duno, on the other hand, is set to fight in the main supporting bout against Jason ?Siaton Boy? Egera (21W-6L-0D-10KOs) of Negros Oriental for the vacant Philippine Boxing Federation (PBF) super featherweight crown. ? LITO DELOS REYES
