
?CHOCOLATITO? GONZALEZ NAMED ?FIGHTER OF THE YEAR? BY UNIVISION

The brilliant and undefeated World Boxing Council flyweight champion, Roman "Chocolatito" Gonzalez, has been deservedly named ?Best Fighter of the Year?by the TV Network Univision Deportes.
The WBC reported that Chocolatito, who attended the ceremony, has been recognized by several magazines and by media internationally, due to his great quality, tremendous power and consummate boxing skills.
The WBC internet site said ?Chocolatito? ?has earned the respect and recognition of former and current world champions who have acknowledge his comprehensive and fantastic performances? including former two division world champion Brian Viloria of the Philippines who put on a gallant performance against the Ring Magazine?s pound for pound No.1 before losing by a 9th round TKO last October 17 at New York?s Madison Square Garden.
"Chocolatito" was presented with his trophy by his manager, Carlos Blandon, and the great Panamanian boxer, Roberto "Hands of Stone" Duran.
With this recognition, the boxer who's choc a block with KO power, adds another important award to his career .
He has received accolades galore, as he was also awarded ?Best Fighter of the Year, by the Nicaraguan Journalists Association.
Prior to his win over Viloria, Gonzalez scored a 2nd round TKO over former champion Edgar Sosa on May 15 and a 3rd round TKO in a scheduled ten round bout against Valentin Leon in an eventful year.
