UNDEFEATED Markquil Salva?a of General Santos City and his opponent Jason Moloney of Australia both made their weights today (Dec. 18) at the official weigh-in for their title-fight tomorrow for the vacant World Boxing Association (WBA) Oceania super bantamweight crown at the Malvern Town Hall in Melbourne, Australia.
Salva?a tipped the scales at 121.8 lbs., while Moloney submitted 120.8 lbs. during the weigh-in held at the Bayview at the Park Hotel.
?Okay lang si Salva?a. Wala siya naglisod sa iya timbang,? said young manager Jim Claude ?JC? Manangquil of Sanman Promotions.
Also present to witness the weigh-in was Sanman Promotions Chief Finance Officer Dexter ?Wangyu? Tan. It was supervised by Derick Wilham of WBA.
Salva?a (9-0-0-3 KOs) was still 125 pounds when they arrived last Dec. 15.
He previously won against former Philippine champion Philip Parcon via a 6th round technical knockout last Sept. 26 at the Gaisano Mall Atrium in Gensan.
Moloney, on the other hand, is also undefeated with a clean record of four straight wins all by TKO. He has already beaten two Filipino boxers all by knockouts.
In his last fight, Moloney survived a second round knockdown to stop Filipino Danilo Gabisay of Bulacan in the 5th round last Aug. 19 at the Hisense Arena. - LITO DELOS REYES
