Promising bantamweight Jerwin Ancajas of the Manny Pacquiao Boxing Stable in Davao City scored a 1st round knockout of over-matched Paul Apolinario at an MP Promotions USA fight card staged at the classy air-conditioned Philippine Navy Gym in Fort Bonifacio on Friday night.

All Ancajas needed was one cracking straight to drop Apolinario for the full count at a mere 0:35 seconds of the opening round when referee Ver Abainza counted out the 28 year old Apolinario.

The win which was no sweat for Ancajas improved his record to 24-1-1 with 16 knockouts while Apolinario dropped to 10-15-3 with 6 knockouts.

It was the second knockout in a row for Apolinario who was stopped in three rounds by Ryan Lumacad last August 14 in Davao City.

Lumacad himself appeared on the card and scored an impressive ten round unanimous decisiomn over Jetly Purisima in an action-packed bout where Lumacad showed excellent boxing skills against an aggressive and persistent opponent who refused to back-off and won the hearts of the marines and navy personnel for his courage.

All three judges had Lumacad then winner with Virgilio Garcia and Salvador Lopez turning in identical scorecards of 97-92 and Oliver Garcia 98-91.

In a lightweight clash Jay Ar Inson used his five inch height advantage to good advantage to hammer a game Bryan Macamay who tried all night long to get inside the jab of Inson and work to the body, largely unsuccessfully.

In the end Inson who combined power with quick movement overpowered Macamay to score a 10th round TKO to push his record to 10-0 with 7 knockouts while Macamay fell to 9-4-2 with 5 knockouts.
