WBC PLANS CASH BONUS FOR CHAMPIONSHIP WINNERS

The World Boxing Council is formulating a plan for the winners of championship bouts to receive a ten percent cash bonus.
The WBC website reported that the incentive boost, based upon a winning performance, has already been discussed at the recent WBC Convention in Kunming, China.
At the WBC's weekly press conference, President Mauricio Sulaiman stressed this would be an important motivation, on top of their already agreed purse.
It was noted that up to now boxing has lagged behind other sports and offers no bonus for a victory.
