THE Sanman Promotions will have an exciting boxing card on November 27 at the San Andres Fishing Industries (SAFI) compound in Barangay Tambler, General Santos City.

?It?s actually a joint celebration of SAFI?s 44th anniversary and my 23rd birthday,? said Sanman Promotions CEO Jim Claude Manangquil, who is probably the world?s youngest boxing promoter-manager.

SAFI?s Dexter ?Wang Yu? Tan is also the Chief Finance Officer of Sanman.

Pitted in the main event of the SAFI card are World Boxing Federation Asia Pacific featherweight champion Rimar Metuda of Sanman Stable and veteran Jaime Barcelona of Bukidnon in a 10-round 126-pound match.

Metuda, who is undefeated in eight straight fights with no draw, previously scored a 5th round technical knockout win against Jason Tinampay last September 26 at the Gaisano Mall Atrium of General Santos City.

Barcelona, on the other hand, fought but lost for the World Boxing Council (WBC) Asian Boxing Council featherweight title to Chonlatarn Piriyapinyo by a unanimous decision last January 2, 2009 in Bangkok, Thailand.

The veteran boxer also lost the Philippine title-fight fight against Vinvin Rufino by a UD on March 25, 2009 at the Manila Hotel in Manila.

?This will be another good test for Metuda since Barcelona is a veteran fighter,? Mananquil said.

The main supporting match pits Sanman?s Michael Angelo ?Magic? Plania (7-0-0) of Gensan against Ronerex Dalut (9-17-2) of Glan, Sarangani Province in an 8-rounder 122 lbs. bout.

Two other exciting fights will also be featured.

Raymart ?Gensan Assassin? Gaballo, another undefeated fighter from Sanman will eye for his 11th straight victory against Roldan Malinao (11-35-1) of Agusan del Sur in a 6-rounder and 118-pound bout.

Jenny Boy ?Camiguin Tiger? Buca (10-2-0) of Mambajao, Camiguin will trade punches with Romulo ?Demon? Ramayan Jr. (6-5-3) of Valencia City for 6 rounds and 112 lbs.

?We will also have 15 pairs of promising amateur boxers from different barangays,? said Mananquil, who had his first professional boxing promotion at the very young age of 15 years old only in Gensan. ? LITO DELOS REYES
