Tabugon.
GENERAL Santos City -- International Boxing Organization Intercontinental super Flyweight champion Ray Tabugon of Sanman Promotions left the country for his fight in Mexico on November 14.

Tabugon will be facing Mexican Juan "Churritos" Hernandez in a 10 round non-title bout at Gymnasio Miguel Barragan in Mexico City.

?We had to use the Mexican visa kasi wala ng time kumuha pa ng US visa. That?s why mas mahaba yun biyahe ni Tabugon kasi via Europe pa sila,? said Sanman Promotions CEO Jim Claude ?JC? Mananquil.

The Tabugon-Hernandez bout is a supporting event of the main header between Adrian Estrella and Oren Padilla.

According to Mananquil, Tabugon is ?positive going into this fight?.

The 24-year old Tabugon is coming from a first round knockout win against Jong Sabellina last September 26 at the Gaisano Mall of Gensan.

?Tabugon is excited and is looking for another win to up his record," said Manangquil.

Tabugon (17-3-1) captured the IBO Intercontinental light flyweight title by knocking down in the 12th and beating Luzuko Siyo by a unanimous decision in East London, South Africa last December of last year.

Tabugon also pocketed the vacant WBC Asian Boxing Council Continental flyweight title via a unanimous decision against then-undefeated Jake Bornea.

Hernandez, on the other hand, has a record of 28-3-0.

He holds the NABF Minimum weight title after whipping Moises Fuentes via a split decision.

He also beat Filipino Denver Cuello via a third round disqualification. Hernandez also fought for the WBC World minimumweight title but lost by a UD to Kazuto Ioka of Japan. - LITO DELOS REYES
