Five division world champion Nonito ?The Filipino Flash? Donaire is training twice a day now that his December 13 fight against Cesar Juarez in Puerto Rico is for the world title which was stripped for inactivity from Guillermo Rigondeaux during the recent WBO Convention in Florida.
Donaire?s wife Rachel told the New Standard/boxingmirror.com that Donaire was ?excited? about the fight and the opportunity to once again go after a world title.
Juarez is a 24 year old Mexican with a record of 17-3 with 13 knockouts and is coming off a twelve round unanimous decision to win the WBO International title against Juan Carlos Sanchez Jr last July 25.
He had earlier won a majority eight round decision over Cesar Seda on March 28.
However. Juarez lost a twelve round majority decision to Hugo Partida in a clash for the WBC Interim FECARBOX super bantamweight title on February 2, 2013.
Partida is the same fighter who was dropped three times in the opening round and knocked out by undefeated Prince Albert Pagara on June 21, 2014 in a clash for the vacant IBF Intercontinental super bantamweight title.
The 32 year old Donaire has a record of 35-3 with 23 knockouts and is coming off back-to-back 2nd round TKO victories over William Prado of Brazil to win the NABF crown on March 28 followed by a similar TKO victory over former European champion Anthony Settoul of France in a scheduled ten round bout on March 28, following a 6th round TKO loss to the heavy handed Nicholas Walters for the WBA featherweight title on October 18, 2014 in Macau.
