FORMER world title challenger Richie "Magnum" Mepranum will fight infront of his hometown crowd on Nov. 14 at the Maasim Municipal gym in Maasim, Sarangani Province.

Mepranum (30 wins, 4 loss, 1 draw) will face Marjhunn Tabamo (8-8-4) of Butuan City for the WBU light flyweight title promoted by his own manager Maasim Mayor Lopez.

The 28-year old Mepranum previously scored a unanimous decision against Jetly Purisima last Aug. 14 at the SM Davao Annex.
The 5-foot-5 native of Maasim also stopped Jomas Ministerio by a technical knockout in 44 seconds remaining of 5th round last Feb. 15 at the Kabasalan municipal gym in Sibugay, Zamboanga.
Mepranum last saw action infront in Maasim on Sept. 27, 2014 when he beat Albet Alcoy by a unanimous decision.

That was after he bowed to Mexican Juan Francisco Estrada by a 10th round TKO in their championship fight for the WBA Super World flyweight and WBO World flyweight titles at the Centro Convenciones in Puerto Penasco, Sonora, Mexico.

The 23-year old Tabamo, on the other hand, is a southpaw who drew three of his last four fights.

The first one was a majority draw with Marvilo Aballe of MP Davao Stable last April 5 in Panabo City followed by a split draw with Elvin Bicoy on May 19 at Magsaysay Gym in Magsaysay, Lanao del Norte.

In his last outing, Tabamo also settled a split draw with Donny Mabao last Sept. 13 at the Salug Gym in Salug, Zamboanga del Norte.

Tabamo's previous victory was a unanimous decision against Marwin Cristota at the Bula Gym in Gensan.
