Prichard Colon who fights out of Puerto Rico and is managed by Al Haymon is still in a critical condition following surgery for bleeding on the brain after his loss to undefeated Terrel Williams in Fairfax, Virginia on Saturday night.

Sky Sports in Britain reported that the promising welterweight, who was fighting on the undercard of Lamont Peterson's majority decision victory over Felix Diaz Jr, was floored twice in the ninth and then disqualified when his corner removed his gloves at the end of the round.

The 23 year old Colon who suffered his first defeat after 16 wins with 13 knockouts was rushed to a hospital in North Virginia having reportedly experienced vomiting and dizziness in his dressing room afterwards.

He was coming off a 4th round knockout win over former WBA champion, veteran Vivian Harris last September 11.

Promoter Lou DiBella, president of DiBella Entertainment, said in a statement: "Prichard Colon became symptomatic in his dressing room following his bout with Terrel Williams."

Sky Sports quoted DiBella who said "Within moments, he was under the care of EMTs and was rushed to Inova Fairfax Hospital. He suffered a brain bleed as a result of an injury during the bout and underwent immediate surgery to relieve pressure on his brain. His condition remains critical.?
