Eight division world champion Manny Pacquiao who is immensely popular in the Middle East will visit the new GO Sports at the Mall Of The Emirates expansion on November 5.
Time Out Dubai reported that Pacquiao will visit the GO Sports megastore which is regarded as the largest of its kind on the planet and has ?brought in a suitably huge name to celebrate? the occasion.
The event where Pacquiao will meet and greet hundreds of fans, many of them Filipinos who live and work in Dubai and Abu Dhabi is similar to an earlier event featuring popular football super star David Beckham.
Fans have been advised to keep an eye on the GO Sports social media channels to find out how they can meet the Filipino star.
Referred to as ?one of the most recognizable faces in world sport having been champion of the world on 10 occasions? the 36 year old Pacquiao will be in the region in early November as part of the PBA Philippine Cup at Al Nasar Sports Club.
Pacquiao is the playing coach of the Mahindra Enforcers, formerly Kia.
Time Out Dubai also mentioned that ?fight fans are on tenterhooks as they await confirmation of the star?s next bout with many hoping he will return to the UAE to do battle with Amir Khan in 2016.?
Pacquiao and Amir Khan were recently in Doha, Qatar for the AIBA World Boxing Championships but Pacquiao had to leave after one day because of a major award he was to receive as the ?Game Changer of the Year? from the Asia Society at a gala dinner celebration at the United Nations in New York.
