Palicte.
THE Thai boxer is out and will be replaced by a Mexican opponent for former International Boxing Federation (IBF) Youth super flyweight champion Aston ?Mighty? Palicte in the ?Tibay ng Pinoy XI? slated Nov. 14 at the Solaire Casino and Resort in Manila.
?We will get a Mexican to have more challenge for Palicte and to attract more viewers at Solaire,? said promoter Joven Jimenez of the MP Promotions.
The 24-year old Palicte (19-1-0), is supposed to face Thailand?s Wisanlek Sithsaithong (13-8-0) for the vacant World Boxing Organization (WBO) Oriental super flyweight crown.
The name of the Mexican will be announced soon.
?Pinipilian pa kasi namin ang listahan,? said Jimenez.
More exciting fighters from the Davao City-based MP Boxing Stable under chief trainer Raides ?Nonoy? Neri are also included in the undercard.
They are undisputed International Boxing Federation (IBF) and Philippine junior welterweight champion Adones ?Ironman? Cabalquinto (21-0-0), former interim world Drian ?Gintong Kamao? Francisco (28-3-1) and newly-crowned World Boxing Organization (WBO) Oriental lightweight champion Jay-Ar ?Hitman? Inson.
?Their opponents will also be finalized soon,? Jimenez said.
Palicte previously won by a 4th round technical knockout against Fernando Ocon last Aug. 14 at the SM City Davao.
Cabalquinto and Inson, likewise both scored knockout wins on the same date and venue.
Cabalquinto stopped RJ Anoos also by a 4th round TKO in their non-title fight, while Inson pummeled to submission Indonesian Victor Mausul by a TKO in the 2nd round to capture the WBO Oriental lightweight crown.
Francisco, 32, showed back his old fiery form by knocking out Jilo Merlin in 2:12 of the first round last Sept. 6 at the Barangay Labangal gym in Gensan. ? LITO DELOS REYES
