WORLD Boxing Federation world super featherweight champion Harmonito ?Hammer? dela Torre of General Santos City will fight Wanzell ?Venom? Ellison of New Jersey, USA on Oct. 23 at the Celebrity Theatre in Phoenix, Arizona.

Dela Torre?s manager Jim Claude Manangquil said the fight, which is only 8 rounds, will be the main supporting bout of the championship fight for the World Boxing Council Continental Americas between undefeated Rob Brant (17-0) and Louis Rose (13-2-1).

Dela Torre, 21, of the Sanman Stable & Promotions is undefeated in 16 fights and has won his last six bouts all by knockouts or stoppages. The 5-foot-8 orthodox fighter previously stopped Eusebio Baluarte by a 4th round technical knockout at the Robinson?s Mall Gensan last June 7.

He won the vacant WBF world super featherweight title by knocking out Isack Junior of Indonesia in the 4th round at the Lagao Gym Gensan on Sept. 13, 2014.

Dela Torre also scored two impressive wins in Macau, China. He first knocked out Jason Butar Butar of Indonesia in the 3rd round at the Cotai Arena, Venetian Resort last Nov. 24, 2013.
Dela Torre came back on Feb. 22, 2014 to stop another Indonesian Yakobus Heluka in the first round only. Before that, Dela Torre captured the Philippine Boxing Federation (PBF) super featherweight crown via a unanimous decision over Richard Olisa on Sept. 6, 2013 in Mandaluyong City.

Ellison, on the other hand, has a record of 11 wins, 1 loss and 1 draw.

He will be making his comeback fight after he suffered his only setback against WBC Continental Americas lightweight champion Tony Luis of Canada by a unanimous decision held July 25, 2014 in New York.

His last victory was against Iain Weaver only by a split decision on April 4, 2014. Ellison, who also stands at 5-foot-8 and an orthodox boxer, has scored five knockouts already.
His victims were Steve Trumble (1st round), Shakeel Creech (1st round), Jimmy Small (2nd round), La?Javis Manning (1st round) and Alex Cooper (2nd round).

The boxing card is promoted by Greg Cohen Promotions and the Roy Jones Jr. Boxing Promotions in association with the Iron Boy Promotions and GH3 Promotions.

Also featured in the undercard are light heavyweight Lavarn Harvell (15-1) against Samuel Clarkson (16-3) and heavyweight Jarrell Miller (14-0) versus Akhror Muralimov (16-5). ? LITO DELOS REYES
