The grandsons of the late world junior lightweight champion Gabriel "Flash" Elorde will be featured on Viva Sports top rated weekly boxing show "The Main Event" on Pinoy Box Office (PBO) over SkyCable nationwide on Saturday at 8:30 p.m. with a replay at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday.
The two sons of Johnny and Liza Elorde who are regional champions will figure in ten-round bouts against Indonesian opponents in a fight card staged at the Flash Grand Ballroom of the Elorde Sports Complex on Sucat Road, Paranaque.
The Elorde brothers Juan Miguel "Bai" Elorde a solid southpaw and talented Juan Martin "Migs" Elorde the younger brother, had no problem disposing of their opponents who appeared to be over-matched.
Overall it was an interesting card headlined by WBC No. 1 ranked Jonathan Taconing who engaged rugged Jomar Fajardo in a toe-to-toe battle that had the fans on their feet in a clash that was marred by the poor officiating of veteran referee Virgilio Garcia who allowed Fajardo to get awvay with numerous low blows.
Next week "The Main Event" will feature a special to mark the 40th anniversary of the "Thrilla in Manila" which was staged at the Araneta Coliseum on October 1, 1975.
