Nonito ?Dodong? Donaire Sr, the father and trainer of five division world champion Nonito ?The Filipino Flash? Donaire, believes that IBF Intercontinental super bantamweight champion Prince Albert Pagara and IBF Youth featherweight champion Mark ?Magnifico? Magsayo are ?the future of Philippine boxing.?

In an overseas telephone conversation from his gym in Oakland, California, Donaire told the New Standard/boxingmirror.com that Pagara who sparred with super flyweight Joebert Alvarez, a prot?g? of Donaire, ?is very good but he needs to slowdown a little because he is tense and wants to knock his opponent out right away.?

He said the undefeated Prince Albert was ?a good, disciplined fighter. He is the future.?

?Dodong? Donaire was also impressed with unbeaten Mark ?Magnifico? Magsayo and said ?he is also a big potential for the Philippines? although he remarked that they ?still have a lot of things to learn.?

He said that while they ?have the talent and the power, they still have a few weaknesses? which can be corrected because the two young fighters from the famed ALA Gym are wiling to listen and learn.

Donaire Sr said that WBO No. 2 ranked light welterweight Jason Pagara is in ?a tough weight division? and suggested that ?maybe he should try to go down to lightweight (135 pounds) because he?ll be much better.?

He noted that Jason ?he is not really big for 140 pounds and is a little chubby and needs to be disciplined.?

The Pagara brothers and Magsayo will be featured on ALA Promotions initial venture in the US in a fight card headlined by WBO light flyweight champion Donnie NIetes at the StubHub Center in Carson City, California on October 17.

Jason Pagara faces former WBA super featherweight Interim title challenger Santos Benavidez, a 33 year old with a record of 25-7-2 with 19 knockouts who is coming off back-to-back wins over Jay Krupp whom he knocked out in the 8th round on June 20 this year after scoring a 1st round TKO over Cody Richard on May 8.

Prince Albert Pagara battles 34 year old Nicaraguan southpaw William ?Chirizo? Gonzalez who has an impressive record of 23 knockouts in 27 wins with 5 defeats while Magsayo will clash with undefeated Yardley Suarez of Mexico who has 8 knockouts in 13 wins.

Gonzalez won the vacant WBA NABO title with a stunning 7th round knockout of highly favored Cornelius Lock last May 9, 2014 after scoring a 3rd round TKO over Carlos Rivas in a scheduled eight round bout on on March 16, 2013.

Suarez is coming off a 9th round TKO in a scheduled ten round bout with Juan Beltran last August 14 after beating Adalberto Paredes on June 26.
