THE ?Tibay ng Pinoy XI? will now be staged in Manila on November 7 according to the organizing MP Boxing Promotions.

?Next year na ulit tayo dito sa Davao,? said Raides ?Nonoy? Neri of MP Davao Stable and Promotions.

The 11th edition of the Tibay ng Pinoy will have former IBF Youth super flyweight champion Aston ?Mighty? Palicte against a still to be named opponent in the main event.

Also to be featured are undisputed IBF Asia Pacific and Philippine junior welterweight champion. Adones ?Ironman? Cabaquinto, World Boxing Organization (WBO) Oriental lightweight interim champion Jay-R Inson and former interim world champion Drian Francisco.

?Mga 8 pairs siguro, pero inaayos pa ngayon ni Joven ang mga matching,? said Neri referring to matchmaker Joven Jimenez, also trainer-promoter-manager.

Neri said that Manila-based Joe Ramos of MP Promotions is now negotiating with a 5-star casino-resort hotel in Pasay as the possible venue.

?Gusto din kasi natin na ipakita ang mga laban ng MP boxers sa Manila,? said Neri.

MP Promotions, however, will have its year-ending Christmas boxing presentation in December back in General Santos City.
?Yan kasi ang gusto ni Boss Manny sa December,? said Jimenez.
The MP Promotions is owned by 8-time division world champion Manny ?Pacman? Pacquiao.

MP Promotions, which usually holds free boxing show for the public, previously held its 10th edition at the Barangay Labangal gym in Labangal, General Santos City during the annual Tuna Festival last Sept. 6. - LITO DELOS REYES
