THE weekly sports television boxing program ?Blow by Blow?, which started the popularity of 8-division world champion Manny Pacquiao will soon make a comeback.

Pacquiao, now a congressman in Sarangani Province has closed a deal with former North Cotabato Gov. Manny Pinol to produce the all new ?Blow by Blow? TV show.

?This time it will be aired on ABC 5,? said Pinol, also a TV boxing commentator and writer.

A group discussion with the different boxing managers and promoters from Mindanao will be held on Sept. 21 at 11 a.m. at the Yellow Fin Restaurant in Davao City.

?We will discuss the monthly boxing promotion as well as to complete the fight card for its inaugural boxing event on Oct. 9 in General Santos City,? said Pinol , also of Sonshine Sports Promotions.

Among those invited are Raides ?Nonoy? Neri and Vanessa Neri of MP Boxing Promotions, Joven Jimenez of Joven Sports Promotions, Jim Claude Manangquil and Dexter Tan of Sanman Promotions, Billy Quinones and Brian Golingan of Gensan.

It will also be joined by officials of the Games and Amusements Board in Davao.

?Blow by Blow? was then a weekly sports television boxing program produced by Vintage Sports and aired over television network Intercontinental Broadcasting Corporation.

It started in 1994 wherein it focused mainly on up-and-coming boxing prospects. The show was usually taped on small venues and gyms across Metro Manila (usually from Para?aque or Mandaluyong).
The show is noted for airing the early bouts of Pacquiao, who quickly became one of its featured boxers. ? LITO DELOS REYES
