THE Sanman Promotions of General Santos City is also staging another exciting boxing show next month in its goal to promote the sport and the country?s future champions.
It is billed the ?Fistfest sa Glan? set on October 7 at the Glan Gym in Glan, Sarangani Province.
?We?re very happy to announce our partnership with the municipal government of Glan under their dynamic Mayor Victor James Yap,? said Sanman Promotions CEO Jim Claude Manangquil, who is probably the world?s youngest boxing promoter-manager at 21 years old only.
It will be held in celebration of the annual ?Lubi-Lubi Festival?.
Pitted in the main event is the championship fight for the vacant Philippine minimumweight title between Ronie ?Ultimate Warrior? Tanallon of Gensan and Lester John ?The Silent Penetrator? Pronco of Bukidnon.
Tanallon (7-1-1) scored a 2nd round technical knockout against Sherwin McDo Lungay in Lanao del Norte last Aug. 23 while Pronco (9-10-1) previously dropped a unanimous decision to Dexter Alimento in their championship fight for the vacant Philippine minimumweight crown last April 10.
The main supporting bout will feature former world title challenger Jether ?The General? Oliva (23-3-2) of Gensan against Romulo Ramayan (6-5-3) of Valencia City in an 8 round super-flyweight tussle.
Former WBO Asia Pacific Youth super lightweight champion Eusebio Baluarte (19-12-0) of Valencia City will face bullstrong slugger Romero Duno in the undercard that will also feature knockout artist Vince Paras (2-0-0) of Maasim in a yet to be announced opponent.
Sanman Promotions? upcoming boxing event is the ?Brawl at the Mall: Revenge or Revalidation? on Sept. 26 at 4 p.m. at the Gaisano Mall Atrium in Gensan.
It will feature the much-awaited rematch between former WBA Youth bantamweight king Daryl ?Flash? Basadre and WBA Oceania bantamweight champion Kenny Demecillo of Cebu for the vacant World Boxing Federation (WBF) Asia bantamweight title. ? LITO DELOS REYES
