1st Manny Pacquiao Cup Random Chess team tourney Sept. 4-5

THE first Manny Pacquiao Cup Random Chess Team tournament is slated on Sept. 4 and 5 at the SM Mall of General Santos City featuring cash prizes amounting to PhP780,000.

?It?s a 7-round Swiss system format for 60 minutes with five seconds increment,? said deputy arbiter Alfred Moulic.
Each team is composed of four players for a registration fee of P2,000. The team champion will earn a whooping P300,000 cash while the second and third will pocket P200,000 and P100,000, respectively.

The 4th placer gets P50,000, 5th placer P30,000, 6th placer P20,000 and 7th placer P10,000. The 8th to 10th will each receive P7,000 while the 11th to 15th placers will each win P5,000.

The top Board 1 performer will be awarded P5,000 cash, while the top boards 2, 3 and 4 will each get P3,000.

Tournament organizer is Elman Sacanayan while the tournament coordinators are John Lesaca and Orly Ortega. Chief arbiter is NM Ernie Gonzales.
