The scheduled IBF minimum weight title fight between the Philippines Florante Condes and Indonesian champion Muhammad Rachman has been postponed but no new date has been agreed upon.

Viva Sports/Manila Standard Today learned that Vonny Tourino informed IBF president Marian Muhammad that he had received a phone call that “because of an internal problem” with the Indonesians who wanted to promote the fight in Jakarta who unable to come up with the money and deliver on their commitments, they were seeking a postponement.

Tourino requested for a postponement of the mandatory defense of Rachman from June 16 "to the last week of June or first week of July the latest” and said that he and Mr. Fandy will be co-promoters.

Tourino also requested that the officials for the fight be changed to save on expenses with Ray Wheatley as supervisor, another Australian John Wright as referee with Mohamad Rois of Indonesia, Salven Lagumbay from the Philippines and Monthol of Thailand as judges.

He also committed to send the IBF “all the amount of money that we need to pay” next week and requested for payment as well as bank details.

However, IBF Championship Committee chairman Lindsey Tucker noted that if Warriors Boxing, winners of the purse bid “ask for a postponement within the ninety day time frame, the IBF will consider it.” Tucker also very correctly made it clear that the request for a date change must come from Warriors Boxing. In an email to Leon Margules the IBF official said “just be aware that the fight must take place within 90 days of the April 19, 2007 purse bid date.”

The co-manager of Condes along with Filipino Aljoe Jaro, American Dante Ortiz was visibly angry over the run-around being given them by the Indonesians. In an email to Fandy Ndondo, Ortiz noted “boxing is business and athletic discipline serious” and that the Indonesian’s attitude and conduct were questionable.

Ortiz reminded Fandy that he had called him some time ago and “with a haughty attitude" told him “I have lots of money. I am rich.” Howeverm Ortiz noted that today “one of your excuses is financial problems.”

Meantime, Viva Sports/Manila Standard Today learned that even without receiving his training expenses the hard-hitting southpaw Condes has been training diligently in the hope of winning the world title against the 35 year old Indonesian who has a record of 61-5-5 with 20 KO’s .
