DUEL IN DAVAO WEIGH-IN AUG. 13

DAVAO CITY -- The weigh-in of the fighters seeing action for the Tibay ng Pinoy IX: Duel in Davao will be held on Aug. 13, Thursday at 10 a.m. at the SM Davao Annex.

It will be followed by a press conference with the sports media.

?Almost all of the boxers from the MP Stable have made their weight limits already,? said boxing promoter Joven Jimenez.

Three of them are the undefeated Jay-ar ?The Hitman? Inson, reigning International Boxing Federation (IBF) World Youth flyweight champion Aston Palicte and undisputed IBF Asia Pacific and Philippine junior welterweight champion Adones Cabalquinto.

Inson will fight former WBO Asia Pacific super featherweight champion Victor Mausol of Indonesia for 12 rounds in the 135 lbs. division. for the vacant World Boxing Organization (WBO) Orient Interim lightweight crown.

Palicte, on the other hand, takes on Fernando ?Batang Bato? Ocon in a non-title bout for 10 rounds and 116 lbs., while
Cabalquinto faces RJ ?Sharp? Anoos in a rematch for 10 rounds and 141 lbs.

Mausol, Ocon and Anoos are all arriving today in Davao via separate flights.

The Tibay ng Pinoy IX, which is again free to the public will also have five 10-rounders, two 8-rounders and three 4-rounders.

It is supported by SM Mall of Davao, The Royal Mandaya Hotel, Gatorade, Sting, Pepsi, South Coast Mitsubishi, Cerritos Mitsubishi and the city government of Davao. LITO DELOS REYES
