World Boxing Council welterweight Silver champion Amir Khan has said a fight against eight division world champion Manny Pacquiao will be massive.

Khan told Sports360 in Britain ?I?d love to take that fight. We?re friends but sometimes you?ve got to put friendship to one side.?

Khan and Pacquiao met in London to discuss the possibility of a fight before the undefeated pound for pound king Floyd Mayweather Jr agreed to face the Filipino southpaw in a title fight billed as ?The Fight of the Century at the MGM Grand Garden Arena last May 2 with Mayweather winning a twelve round unanimous decision and Pacquiao claiming he was hampered by a rotator cuff injury to his right shoulder for which he underwent surgery some five days later.

Khan believes a Pacquiao showdown ?would be amazing. If that fight does come off it would be towards the end of next year in Dubai. Obviously Dubai has a big Filipino community and a big British and Pakistani community, too. It would be a massive fight.?

The Athens Olympic Games silver medalist made it clear he is a boxing fan as well and looking at Mayweather who continues to ignore his calls for a fight said ?it?s all about the record. If he does fight me and beat me, people will put their hands up. They?ll say ?he fought speed in Amir Khan and won, he fought power in Maidana and won and fought skill in Pacquiao and won?. He realizes that with me he?s going to have big problems. That?s why he?s giving it a miss.?

Khan said ?I?d fight Floyd Mayweather for peanuts because I know that stylistically I can give him the biggest problems he?s ever had? even as he indicated ?I might have a harder fight with Manny Pacquiao and beat him but then I might have Mayweather and find it easier to beat him. It?s all about styles.?
