MAYWEATHER TRAINING AS HARD AS HE DID FOR PACQUIAO FIGHT; IF IT'S BERTO, IT'S PERSONAL

Undefeated pound for pound king Floyd Mayweather Jr is training as hard as he did for his ?Fight of the Century? against eight division world champion Manny Pacquiao at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas last May 2.

Strength and conditioning coach Alex Ariza told the New Standard/boxingmirror.com that Floyd is training non-stop because he never takes chances? even though nobody really knows who he?ll fight on September 12 even though the name of former world champion Andre Berto has been prominently mentioned as Mayweather?s next opponent.

Ariza said ?it's great to see such a work ethic because I too am learning different things from the greatest.?

He said Mayweather is ?not in the same mood? he was in while preparing for Pacquiao because if it is Berto ?it is personal? because of some of the ridiculous claims made by Berto in the past in which he accused Mayweather of harassing him on the telephone as bad blood continues to build between the two.

According to the report on TMZ, Berto believes Mayweather is upset with him as he is friends with Floyd?s ex-fiance Shantel Jackson and her new boyfriend. Whatever the situation it seems there is some history between the pair which may make for some fireworks if they should meet in the ring.

Ariza believes Mayweather ?is waiting to kick Berto?s behind.?
He said Mayweather has looked good in sparring against ?young, big aggressive kids? and added that what he likes best is that Floyd ?allows at least a hundred people to come in and watch him perform.?

Ariza recalled that this was ?a very essential part of Manny?s life, sparring in front of so many people? but when trainer Freddie Roach and adviser Michael Koncz shut down the gym and kept even the Philippine media and fans out of the gym while he was training for the Mayweather fight, it hurt Pacquiao.
