
Bornea wins WBC Asia Pac Youth title

GENERAL SANTOS CITY --- Hardpunching Jake Bornea knocked out Richard Rosales in the 4th round to win the vacant World Boxing Organization (WBO) Asia Pacific Youth flyweight title last July 11 at the Robinsons Mall Gensan.
It was the 10th win and the 5th by knockout against only one loss for the 20-year old native of Arakan, North Cotabato. Bornea, a former World Boxing Federation (WBF) International flyweight title-holder, dominated the fight since the first round.
Bornea, also a former member of the Philippine national amateur boxing team, is now under the Amoy Boxing Stable in General Santos City.
The 21-year old Rosales of Dagohoy, Bohol suffered his only 3rd defeat with 9 wins and 2 draws.
Meanwhile, Jelbirt Gomera of G-Pro Boxing Team captured the vacant Philippine Boxing Federation (PBF) bantamweight title by stopping journeyman Prell ?The Joker? Tupaz of Manila in the 3rd round.
Gomera remained undefeated with nine straight wins with no loss or draw while the 30-year old Tupaz dropped to 8 wins, 27 loses, 5 draws. ? LITO DELOS REYES
