DAVAO CITY -- Former International Boxing Organization (IBO) world super flyweight champion Edrin ?The Stingray? Dapudong celebrated his 29th birthday with a second round knockout win against Richard Garcia in the main event of the Boxing Revolution III Friday night at the Almendras gym.

Dapudong landed two consecutive lefts on the body and face for the knockout in 2:19 of the 2nd round.

Dapudong started hurting the Manila-based Garcia with bodyshots in the first round. The native of M?lang, Cotabato continued landing left-right combinations at the start of the second canto before he finally hit the two powerful lefts.

?Nagpapasalamat talaga ako ng malaki una sa Panginoon dahil dito sa isang magandang birthday gift ko,? said Dapudong, who improved his record to 32 wins, 19 KOs, 6 losses and no draw.
Garcia suffered his 22nd defeat against 25 wins and 1 draw.

?The Boxing Revolution III will bolster Dapudong?s bid for a rematch against Mexican Hernan ?Tyson? Marquez for a world title,? said Gov. Manny Pinol.

A possible rematch against Marquez and Dapudong will be for the International Boxing Organization bantamweight title.

Dapudong previously stopped Thailand?s Wisanlek Sithsai in the 5th round last October 11, 2014 at the Almendras gym.

In the main supporting card, former World Boxing Organization (WBO) Oriental featherweight champion Lorenzo ?Thunderbolt? Villanueva stopped substitute Hagibis Quinones in 34 seconds of the 1st round.
