Former IBF light flyweight champion and mandatory challenger Johnreil Casimero is expected to start aggressively when he battles undefeated flyweight champion Amnat Ruenroeng at the Hua Mark Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand on Saturday evening in a fight to be telecast by TV5 on Sunday at 1:00 p.m.

Casimero tipped the scales at the flyweight limit of 112 pounds at the official weigh-in at the Golden Tulip Hotel yesterday while Ruenroeng came in one pound lighter at 111.

In what most experts believe will be a tactical fight in which the Thai champion who has a record of 15-0 with 5 knockouts will try to use his hand-speed, a good left jab and quick footwork to stay out of trouble and hold rather than engage, the hard-hitting Casimero is likely to pounce on Ruenroeng just like he did in the title eliminator against Armando Santos whom he chased at the opening bell and launched a vicious attack while the Puerto Rican was on the ropes, overwhelming him to win by a 2nd round TKO.

It was the same tactic Casimero used when he lost his 108 pound title after failing to make the weight in a title defense against Mauricio Fuentes in a fight where Casimero demolished the Mexican to score a 1st round knockout with one second remaining in the round.

Veteran trainer Jhun Agrabio who has poured over Ruenroeng?s fight tapes especially against Puerto Rico?s McWilliams Arroyo when the Thai champion retained his title by a split decision, surviving a sixth round knockdown.

Arroyo caught Ruenroeng with a big overhand right which is also one of the best punches in the arsenal of Casimero in addition to his uppercuts and hooks to the head and body but the quick-footed Ruenroeng is expected to fight from a distance behind the jab and is not likely to engage Casimero.

Trainer Aljoe Jaro who is handling Ruenroeng has conceded that Casimero is the heavier puncher but believes that Ruenroeng is the more skilful boxer with the better technique.

Agrabio who kept a close watch on Casimero?s training at the Roy Jones Gym in Las Vegas and during a brief stunt at Big Bear in California with Shane Mosley told the New Standard/boxingmirror.com that Casimero was ?in high spirits and very confident of winning his second world title.?

He said Casimero is ?ready as ever? and has advised him to keep his focus and stick to the fight plan and not to complain if Amnat throws one or two punches and runs. He told Casimero ?do your job. It's up to you after you sacrificed in training,?
Agrabio reiterated ?I believe in Casimero. He has no problems either physically or mentally. He is confident. mWe have no worries.?

Fears of a hometown decision have been erased by the IBF which picked all American officials with Larry Doggett as referee and veteran Don Trella, David Braslow and Hilton Whitaker Jr as judges.

The fight supervisor is Anibal Miramontes of Argentina.
