Lisa Giampa has replaced Patricia Morse Jarman as a judge in the WBO light flyweight title defense of Donnie ?Ahas? Nietes against mandatory challenger Francisco Rodriguez on July 11 at the Waterfront Hotel and Casino in Cebu.
The New Standard/boxingmirror.com haven?t received a response to our query on what prompted the change.
Lisa Giampa is the wife of outstanding judge Chuck Giampa and has competed several years in training as an amateur judge in Las Vegas before the Nevada State Athletic Commission officially appointed Lisa to their team as a professional judge in 2007.
Her first pro assignment was in Laughton, Nevada when she judged two right round bouts which resulted in unanimous decisions in both fights.
Lisa Giampa has attended judges seminars throughout the United States and foreign countries and is a proud member of the North American Boxing Federation family of professional boxing judges.
Although she primarily judges fights in Las Vegas, Lisa Giampa has also judged fights in Puerto Rico, Mexico, South Africa, China and the Philippines.
The importance of the Nietes- Rodriguez showdown can be gauged by the fact that no less than World Boxing Organization president Francisco ?Paco? Valcarcel will travel all the way from Puerto Rico to act as Fight Supervisor which has been welcomed by Filipino boxing fans.
